Mother’s Day - dad!Josh Kiszka x Reader

Happy (late) mother’s day! Here’s some dad!Josh for you :p

Summary: it’s your first Mother’s Day as a mom and Josh wants to make it as special as possible.

Josh knew he had to make your first Mothers Day as a mother extra special. After giving birth to your twin daughters, Sunny and Celeste, only six months ago, Josh has made it his main mission to be the best dad in the entire world, and he has since accomplished that.

You still recall the day you told Josh you were expecting like it was yesterday. You can imagine those two pink lines in your head as vivid as they were the day you first saw them.

“Josh?” You called out to your husband who just got home from a long day at the recording studio.

“Yes, my love?”

“I have a surprise for you.” Your lips tipped up into a smile.

“A surprise? Sweetheart, you know I’m no good with surprises.”

“Trust me, you’ll love this one.”

And without another word, you were racing into the other room to pick up a small gift box you had prepared for him.

Your heart raced as you placed the small box into his clutch, watching as he unwrapped the very neatly tied white bow at the top.

As he slid the lid off, your stomach turned into a knot. You watched as Josh’s face contorted into a smile.

“Baby…what is this?” He says, picking up the test. He knows damn well what it is, he’s just In disbelief. “Are you serious? Are you really-”

“Yes!” You smiled through sobs. Josh wiped away a few tears from his eyes, before picking up the light yellow onesie which suns and stars scattered all over.

You knew while you were living it that this would be a moment that would be forever remembered. You launched yourself at him. He engulfed you in the biggest embrace you had ever felt. You loved Josh and your new family so much.

and then there was the time you found out it wasn’t just one baby…

“That’s Baby A…” the sweet doctor read off, showing you your baby that was no bigger than an olive.

“Baby A?” Josh asked, sounding confused.

The young woman replied with a nod. “Congratulations! There’s two.!”

Your jaw dropped in shock. More tears continued to roll down your face. You knew twins had a chance of being genetic but never imagined it would happen to you.

“Twins? You gotta be joking.” Josh laughed. “Ah, I should’ve known!”

You and Josh cried tears of happiness the entire way home.

“Sunshine, what do you wanna pick out for mama?” Josh spoke softly to Sunny, who was close to falling asleep in her stroller.

The grocery store aisle was filled with flowers and other items marketed towards Mothers Day. Going to the grocery store was usually a thing all of you would do together, but luckily Josh convinced you to stay home this time around.

Although Josh had always provided you with the most thoughtful gifts no matter the holiday, he knew he had to step it up this time around.

As he scanned the shelves, he heard Celeste cooing in the stroller.

“Yeah? You like this one?” His hand hovered over a bouquet with the most colorful flowers he had ever seen. “Mama will love it too. Great job Estie.”

With that, he picked up the bouquet and placed it in the shopping basket. He took a few more steps to the card aisle, scanning his finger over the Mother’s Day cards. He picked up a light pink card with hearts and tomatoes that read “momma, I love you from my head tomatoes.” On it.

“This one will be from…Sunny…and…” he continued, grazing his finger along the card display. He landed on another card with a bee hive and some bumble bees on it that read ‘Happy Mother’s Day to a bee-utiful mom!’ On it. “This one will be from Celeste. Alright! Now that that’s covered-”

He swiftly made his way around the rest of the store, picking up other items like orange juice and pancake mix to make you the most special breakfast.

He also swung by the craft store and got a few supplies to make another very sentimental gift he knew you would forever cherish.

…

The very next day, you were awoken by the smell of your favorite breakfast cooking in the kitchen. Chocolate chip pancakes.

Before you could even attempt to get out of bed, you hear Josh’s footsteps padding across the wooden floors.

“Hi mama!” He smiles, entering the room holding Sunny and Celeste in each arm. “Our Sunshine and Estie wanted to say hello!”

He holds out the twins and places them delicately on the bed sheets. He places a soft kiss to your lips.

“We have some gifts for you. Happy Mother’s Day my love.”

“Thank you baby.” You whisper back as Josh pulls out a small gift bag and a vase filled with a vibrant and colorful bouquet from inside his closet.

You open the gift bag to see three separate cards, one from Sunny, one from Estie, and one from Josh himself. Your heart feels like it’s going to burst from happiness. You open all the cards, all three have Josh’s handwriting, obviously. He is such a sweetheart and you couldn’t have married anyone better. The messages he wrote in all of them were something that you could only have imagined you’d receive someday. Putting your hand back into the gift bag, you pull out a canvas with two foot prints on it, one foot for Sunny and one foot for Celeste.

Underneath the foot prints are the words ‘Sunny and Celeste ❤️ Mama’ in cursive writing.

Tears begin to well in your eyes, Josh racing to wipe them off.

“I love it.” You blurt out, trying not to say anymore or else the tears will keep coming.

“We love you.” Josh spoke, moving a strand of hair out of your face.

I went to bed a few hours ago and just woke up like I'd been struck with a vision.

I'm moving modern/no magic au Pavo and Esti from their boring dimension and into the larger Banes and Boons setting. Purely because I love the idea of Adi going into a sex shop to get supplies and bitching about his new client to the owner of the shop, Pavo, who is fucking Fuming that his parasocial enemy who doesn't know he exists has managed to one up him in shit-holery once again without even trying.

Pavo gets himself a toxic sugar-situship with a man half his age? Eadwulf gets one too but he also controls the industry his sugar baby is trying to get into and will have a choke hold on his career for the rest of their natural lives because Nobody is in a more prime place to permanently ruin Adi than Eadwulf. Esti can just get a fucking restraining order on Pavo. He doesn't even need the money as bad as Adi does! He just "likes Pavo" and "enjoys spending time with him".

Pavo is so fucking pissed and Eadwulf is completely unaware of the massive power imbalance in his own fucking relationship because he's just a dumbass with a praise kink and not actively trying to get a blockbuster made about his life where he has a different lover in every scene and a suggestively large gun.
